In late 2007/early 2008 PhoneThing contributed opinion and assessment to a large report for the Open Mobile Terminal Platform - a global mobile industry consortium of mobile operators and developers, on the future of mobile and the internet and how to improve things for software developers. This report was subsequently forwarded to members of the GSM Association, around 700 network operators globally.

We subsequently contributed a small amount of developer opinion (around 30 pages) on Google's Android mobile operating system, Apple's iPhone Software Development Kit, and Google's OpenSocial API, for Ajit Jaokar's forthcoming book on Open Mobile Ecosystems, written in conjunction with other leading mobile experts.

PhoneThing is available for consultancy or custom work, and is happy to discuss your requirements in this area, as well as consider one off custom development projects, including adaptations of existing products and services. While our main focus is on the mobile elements of a project, we are able to liaise with other providers we have worked with previously, e.g. web designers, should you need additional requirements fulfilled for your project.

At the moment we're at various stages of development with a pretty unique LBS system focussed on user generated "micromapping", a service for user-built custom SMS services, and we're VERY interested in mobile based software projects for the poorest mobile users (particularly in developing countries).

PhoneGreetz is a product for any website (e.g. an online gallery) to enable the sale of existing pictures on that site as a variety of fun and unique mobile image downloads to site users. A potentially great store of revenue can thus be unlocked from existing image content on the site, enabling a valuable extra revenue stream.

It is free for sites to use, and very easy and quick to implement.

Users can have their chosen image turned into a variety of unique mobile content downloads, such as:

• An animated greetings card to send to a friend with "handwritten" message.
  
• An animated "virtual present" to send to a friend, with "handwritten" gift tag.
  
• A wallpaper or screensaver customised to their liking using the inbuilt editor which enables the addition of text and graphics to the image, and image cropping.
  
• The image as it is on the site.
  

In all cases the PhoneGreetz engine adapts the content appropriately to the phone that downloads it, ensuring users are given the best possible experience.

Sites that implement PhoneGreetz can decide their own pricing and use different pricing for different sections of images on their sites.

Furthermore, PhoneGreetz allows the site to track payment to any image copyright holders and decide the revenue split with them. We can even pay the copyright holders direct, meaning PhoneGreetz is a truly "implement and forget" system that can bring valuable extra revenue to a website.

A new mobile sports brand, initially featuring two innovative products:

1. Live SMS Sports results to any mobile in the world. Initially this will launch with worldwide soccer (football) scores, and can be resold and rebranded by any 3rd party website, as their own service. It allows users to manage and top up their own "SMS Wallet" containing credits to receive sports scores, and set full options for the type of results they'd like to receive.

2. Unique and realistic animated soccer shirt images, that can be personalised with any name and number and sent to a phone for use as a screensaver or wallpaper. These will be adapted to fit the phone that downloads them.
